Information about 128-bit Encryption Some Internet applications will require you to use 128-bit encryption. Retrieving PS&R Summary Reports from the Highmark Medicare Services web site is one example. 128-bit encryption provides a significantly greater amount of cryptographic protection than lower levels of encryption. Do you need to upgrade your browser? The latest modern versions of popular web browsers from Apple (Safari), Microsoft (Internet Explorer), Mozilla (Firefox), and Netscape (Navigatior) all have 128 bit or better (often 256 bit) excryption. We strongly recommend that you upgrade to the latest version of these browsers, especially if you are on a PC that is a few years old or more. For older browsers, you may also perform a check to see if you are encrypting at 128 bit or better. Internet Explorer:
