FISS on-line training classes are designed to teach you how to interact with the Fiscal Intermediary Standard System (FISS). If you currently have on-line access to FISS and are a new user to FISS, we encourage you to register for one of the hands-on training classes. Class size is limited, so register early. Highmark Medicare Services will be offering this class on a quarterly basis. Please watch the Highmark Medicare Services website, FISS Bulletin Board, and Highmark Medicare Services Mailing List for current and future training dates.

This class is for the beginner FISS user. Register for this class if you have never used FISS or if you are just getting started with FISS. You will learn claim submission, claim inquiry, claim corrections, claim adjustments, and eligibility verification.

Prior to Registration

• Your facility must have a valid Medicare Part A provider number.
• Your facility must have EDI connectivity with Highmark Medicare Services and have on-line FISS access (FISS ID and passwords) before registering.
• You MUST bring your on-line access ID and passwords to class.
• Please access FISS at least one time prior to attending your appointment to ensure you can access the system.

Registration

There is a $25.00 charge per participant for the workshop if you choose to have us supply a hardcopy FISS manual to you. You may download the FISS Manual from our website and bring it with you to the workshop. Payment must be received 3 days prior to the workshop. Payment must be received by check. Checks must be made out to ‘Highmark’. Please send your check to:

Class size is limited. Therefore, seating is limited to two persons per facility. Registration starts at 8:30 a.m. The workshop begins promptly at 9:00 a.m. and ends no later than 12:30 p.m.

We will email a confirmation notice to you after we have received your registration. The confirmation sheet will provide you with directions to our office.
